Happy New Year guys I hope everything is going well for you so far! I hope you had a form of connection with your family and friends throughout the Christmas and New Years period!
Conjured secrets have been going in my mind for quite a couple of years now… Maybe about five years. Maybe six, since 2026 is on a roll, and it’s about that time since I have created my first character throughout the series, Lucile. Throughout this period, it has taken quite some time to find the theme of my story. Or at least, one of the central themes.
CONNECTION.
This word has been rather… Important to me. I have come upon it recently, and it has existed for as long as when it was still a game idea. And the topic of Connection is important. It’s the ability to find ways to hang out and be with others. Asking for help. The interactions, and to not be alone. It’s a story that has gone through lockdown, where personal connections are harder to come by. Then getting the opportunity to interact with others, but sometimes, you get too shy or afraid to do that.
Connecting with others is a hard thing. Especially for those who has had a harder time connecting with others than other people, and the matters of being different. Difference is a hard thing to face, and especially without commonalities, you start to shun yourself, and would prefer to keep a foot out than to risk getting close to the ones who could understand and accept you, even for the strange attributes that you have.
It tests you.
Sometimes, you want to be able to talk and connect with others. Others, you would rather kick everyone out and would not want say what is happening. But connection is the most important, even if you have to fight through a common cause and the lack of choice drags you down. It is one of the most, if not the most important thing for lots of people to have.
In this story, and throughout The Sorcerer of Runes series, it is explored through characters and lore on how to navigate troubles when there are at times, complicated challenges that risks the connection you have made with your friends.
Just remember, this word is very important, or at least, the variations of that word. And sometimes, it is vital to work together, even if you hate it at first.
I hope you are able to talk and connect with others. It is something that it is good to have, even if there are a bit of complications in your relationships, take a call, reach out and ask if they are ok. Because something like this must be cultivated in order for it to last.
