Here’s something I feel like it needs to be talked about.
Stepping into the library after a day of verbal tests which has mostly gone to naught.
Climbing down the stairs, towards the bottom floor as I try to book shop for the best book I am able to read. There was a book about moths, yet it spoke about story telling.
Interesting. There’s that part of me that’s drawn to the book and the lessons it brings. Yet, sitting on the desk and flipping through the pages…
There’s a part of me that wonders about the library. How it is apparently dying. Technology replacing the old way of how things work, and making it mean something different… New.
When I look up, my stomach grills itself cold.
Laptops are everywhere. Computers are plentiful. If anything, more people sit in front of technology and computers, other than browsing the aisles of countless books and the places it can take you.
It is really just a wonder… Could books still be there in 10 years time… Maybe even 5 years. Or would it all be replaced with ebooks and tablets within years to come.

Thanks for reading this short excerpt! I’ll admit, this is something I noticed when I was looking around the room and realized that I was the only one reading a book and everyone else is using a phone, laptop, computer…
And later realising that there is more space for study material that the high schoolers are doing (which to be fair, some were studying with lined books, yet also have phones in it too.)
It’s amazing, and a bit scary to see how libraries have changed over time.
